One Day in Tawau, Sabah? Complete Guide To A
Perfect City Break!
If you only have one day in Tawau… or if you're looking to go off on
a short holiday during public holiday or weekend, of course you want to make
the most of it!
If you only have one day to explore the beautiful town, the easiest
way to do this is to book a tour. I usually like to explore the places and
visit by myself, however, I find the Tawau Grouper's Nest Seafood Day Tour is really accessible, cheap and they have so much
to offer in terms of activities, seafood and natural beauty scenery. The package is
priced at RM150 nett per person (minimum two persons) for locals.
The boat leaves the
private jetty at 9.00am and return at 3.00pm. Get out of the bed, have a scrumptious breakfast and be ready to explore Tawau’s first floating seafood restaurant in town!
WHAT
TO DO
Here it goes, the itinerary of the Grouper’s Nest tour.
Grouper’s Nest is one of the few places where
you can spot wildlife creatures like the Proboscis monkey, dolphin and etc, if you’re lucky enough.
Start off the day with some fish feeding at the fish farm and
catching sight of the beautiful swamps along the rivers.
For many of us, getting the most out of our traveling means
returning with photos—lots of photos. I'd have to say what I like about
photographs is that they capture a moment that's gone forever that you'll never
want to forget. Want to fill your feed with amazing images? You’ve definitely come
to the right place.
Enjoy a fun fishing activity and try to catch your own fish
for lunch!
By this time you might be hungry, local seafood lunch with a
variety of steam seafood fresh from the waters such as fish, prawn, crab, soft
shell crab, squid, fruits will be served around 12pm.
Verdict:
The overall
experience is absolutely amazing and I truly enjoyed the tour very much especially
the seafood feast. Blowing the sea breeze, eating the seafood, and surreal seeing nature freely.
Highly recommend if you’re
coming to Tawau for leisure and would like to just take a glance at the
local Tawau life. I will definitely come back here and book the tour again!
